Quotes from 16-year-old Tricia's journal:

"Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between gay and British"

"But school days are always depressing, because no one really cares. Like I just drift through most of my classes and no one talks to me, and sometimes people don't even look at me."

"You know I never write how I feel in this damn thing, it's all lol shit."

"Relationships are always kind of hard I guess, especially when you date busy people."

But my favorite:
"How I will get  them to like me, or be attracted to me?"

Oh men, such a popular topic of my journal. Oh and how SAD I was because NO ONE UNDERSTANDS ME. Also, talking about which person I hated at any given moment.

...I'm pretty sure that hell is being 16 forever.

If you get more than 30, I strongly recommend some counseling.

If you get more than 20, you’re paranoid.

If you get 10-20, you are normal.

If you get 10 or less, you’re fearless

Haven't been on LJ in so long, which is sad because I feel like I can be more open and honest here than on a blinking status update box, or in 140 characters, or on hip-to-the-max Tumblr (which I'm still not sure I totally understand how to use...).

I look back at my internet "persona" (if you will) and I notice that I have not gotten rid of anything. My MySpace: abandoned but still THERE, my old LJ: private, but undeleted, heck I even have things on various teen sites that are wafting around the internet waiting for someone to find and embarrass me with. Why do I do that? Leave pieces everywhere? I always tell myself that I just can't delete it, that it's some part of me that I'll want to look back on. However, I have not once gone back and read enough to give any sort of insight. I have tried to look back, but it's all painful and awful and sad. Why do I continue to leave fragmentary bits of Tricia on some blinking box, only to abandon it later and never come back?

I guess this is why Livejournal has games now. If you don't came back to write about your pointless existence, you can still play Sim Hospital!!!!

God Bless the Internet.

May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.-- Neil Gaiman
